About Movie Treasures Rediscovered

If you’ve gotten this far you’re probably wondering what we do here. I mean, surely there are enough blogs about Hollywood and classic films, how could we possibly need more?

I thought that too. See, as a lifelong cinema fan I’ve loved learning about all the nuts and bolts of what went in to making a particular film throughout my life. And the internet is a treasure trove of information. But over time I have gradually discovered an under served part of film history online. That of the picture lost to time.

For example, I am a huge fan of Humphrey Bogart’s films. And if I want to explore movies like Casablanca, The Maltese Falcon, The African Queen or The Treasure of the Sierra Madre there’s a load of information to be studied and discovered. But what of The Barefoot Contessa, Sabrina or We’re No Angels? Interesting films all though information about the making of each is somewhat scarce by comparison with Bogart’s best loved classics.

So you see what I mean? I think there’s room to explore films worth remembering that may have gradually slipped by the wayside. Each week I’ll delve into the details of one such picture, and the subject and content will be completely at my discretion. Should you find this kind of content interesting I invite you to join me for the ride.
